The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will take on the Mumbai Indians (MI) in match number 59 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday (May 12). This will be an evening contest and hence will begin at 7:30 PM IST. Mumbai became the first team to be eliminated from the playoffs race. They have only two wins after 11 matches and look set to end at the bottom of the points table

Chennai have lifted themselves after a horror start. They have eight points after 11 games and have an outside chance of qualifying for the playoffs. However, CSK are still at the ninth position in the points table so their chances of finishing in the top four are extremely remote. They would be keen to win all of their remaining matches though, starting with the game against MI.

Chennai will go into the contest against Mumbai high on confidence. In their previous game, they hammered the Delhi Capitals (DC) by 91 runs. After posting 208 on the board, they held DC to 117. Devon Conway continued his impressive form, notching up his third consecutive fifty. The other batters need to come to the party though.

CSK’s bowling was excellent in the last game, with everyone chipping in. Off-spinner Moeen Ali stood out with 3 for 13. Dwayne Bravo, Simarjeet Singh and Mukesh Choudhary all claimed two wickets each. With Ravindra Jadeja ruled out, Rajvardhan Hangargekar could come into the playing XI.

CSK predicted XI: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Devon Conway, Ambati Rayudu, Moeen Ali, MS Dhoni (c & wk), Shivam Dube, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, Dwayne Bravo, Maheesh Theekshana, Simarjeet Singh, Mukesh Choudhary

Mumbai had a poor game against Kolkata. Jasprit Bumrah was exceptional with his five-wicket haul while the other bowlers also chipped in with crucial performances. However, the batting was abysmal. Except Ishan Kishan (51), no one stood up to the challenge. As a result, MI faltered in a chase of 166 and were bundled out for 113.

MI predicted XI: Ishan Kishan (wk), Rohit Sharma (c), Tilak Varma, Dewald Brewis, Tim David, Kieron Pollard, Daniel Sams, Murugan Ashwin, Kumar Kartikeya, Jasprit Bumrah, Jaydev Unadkat

Top fantasy picks for CSK vs MI clash: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Devon Conway, Mukesh Choudhary, Ishan Kishan, Jasprit Bumrah, Daniel Sams
