On what was a terribly slow and low pitch at the Nehru Stadium in Kochi, Delhi Daredevils defeated hosts Kochi Tuskers by a huge margin of 38 runs. Electing to bat first, Delhi Daredevils to their shock saw the ball almost rolling down after hitting the pitch to lose two early wickets. It seemed that even a total of 100 wasn't going to be easy at all but Virender Sehwag played a great knock of 80 from 47 balls with 8 fours and 5 sixes to lift Delhi Daredevils to an unimaginable 157 for 7. Sreesanth was the best bowler for Kochi taking 2 for 10 in his 4 overs.
Daredevils were hot with the ball as they soon reduced Kochi to 28 for 3 by the 5th over. None of their batsmen could match the class of Sehwag and they were bundled out for 119 in 18.5 overs. South African imports Morne Morkel and Roelof van der Merwe did the job for Daredevils taking three wickets each.
