Rohit Sharma has got over the disappointment of missing out on the World Cup berth and says he remains committed to doing his best whenever he gets the opportunity of donning the national colours in the future.

Sharma, who is representing Mumbai Indians in the ongoing IPL edition, is in sparkling form this season with 134 runs from three innings. He smashed 87 runs against Chennai Super Kings Friday with eight boundaries and five sixes.

Sharma said he is eager to make a comeback to the national side.

"I know I missed out on the World Cup. But it's alright; such things happen. I just need to keep my focus on. Don't lose my heart and whenever I get the opportunity, just do my best," said Sharma.

On his performance against the Super Kings, he said: I have been batting well. I have not had enough opportunities. Today was my day, there was pressure and I did well. I am glad to make runs. It was a perfect day for me. Two wickets in first four overs and I had time in my hand to go and get my runs."

Sharma reckoned that dew at the Wankhede Stadium made batting easier.

"Ball was coming on nicely to the bat because of the dew. I knew I just need to back my abilities because I knew I can hit sixes. That's what I did. I just wanted to bat through the innings and it came out nicely," he said.
