The second ODI between New Zealand and Pakistan will be played at the Queenstown Events Centre on January 26. The New Zealand side had won the first ODI and are 1-0 up in the six-match series.

The manner in which New Zealand played in the previous game it did not seem like they were on an 11-match losing streak – in fact, one thought that it was Pakistan who had been struggling. With the captain Shahid Afridi involved in what could fast turn out to be a captaincy crisis, the home team will look to take advantage of the situation and quickly go 2-0 up.
On the other hand, the PCB has afforded Afridi no favours by not naming him the captain of the World Cup squad yet and this could lead to some major squabbles within the side. The best way to answer all of it is to go out and perform with the bat and the ball – something that is lacking with Afridi in recent times.
New Zealand will be wary of a backlash but playing at home will be an obvious advantage. Queenstown is one of their favourite venues as well and that should augur well for the team.
