After Junaid Khan’s splendid presentation in the English domestic season, the great fast bowler, WasimAkram, has urged Lancashire County to sign the young Pakistan pacer for next few years.

On the suggestion of Akram, the English County signed up Junaid primarily for the current Friends-Life Twenty20 tournament, but later broadened his deal till the end of the season.

Junaid vindicated Akram

Vindicating Akram, 21-year-old pacer demonstrated glowingly in the T20 event snatching 10 scalps in seven matches at brilliant strike-rate of 16.2 and played a central role in picking his side to the league’s quarter-finals.

Akram claimed that Junaid can materialize as a big name over the subsequent few seasons.

Junaid has a passion for game

“He has a passion for the game, which is very important for a young player, and is a team man. I first saw him in the nets while he was with the Pakistan World Cup squad and he impressed me,” said Akram.

“I know some people are saying he is the next WasimAkram – well I hope he is! Lancashire should maybe sign him up for the future,” he added.

In the meantime, Akram uttered that he will forever be obtainable to steer young bowlers
