After upsetting the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their previous match, Trinidad and Tobago (T&T) added another feather to their cap by toppling the Cape Cobras by two wickets, in a Pool A encounter of the 2011 Champions League Twenty20 competition on Tuesday.

While the Cobras crashed out of the tournament with this loss, T&T now await the result of the match between Chennai and the New South Wales Blues (NSW) to determine their fate in the tournament.

NSW will join the Mumbai Indians in the semi-finals if they win against Chennai, while a victory for CSK will make it a run rate issue between them and T&T, in which case the Blues will be out of the competition.

Kevon Cooper struck 25 off 11 balls towards the end of the T&T innings as the Carribbeans chased down their winning target of 138 with a couple of balls to spare.

Cooper had also starred with the bat in the clash against Chennai which eventually proved to be the difference the two sides during T&T's surprise win over the defending champions.

Chasing a modest target, T&T were struggling from the start of their run chase as they were reduced to 26 for two in the sixth over with both the openers falling cheaply.

Wickets fell regularly and T&T needed 24 runs from the last two overs with three wickets in hand at the M A Chidambaram Stadium.

But, the match swung into live in the last two overs as T&T took 15 runs from the penultimate over bowled by fast bowler Dale Steyn who had conceded just three runs and scalped one wicket from his three overs till then.

Nine runs were needed from the final over and T&T romped home with two balls to spare.

Darren Bravo top-scored with a 36-ball 29 while Cooper hung on till the end with 24 not out to take T&T to victory. Cooper, who hoisted Steyn for a six in the penultimate over to tilt the match in his side's favour, hit the winning runs.

With the win in their last Group A match, T&T collected four points from two wins in four league matches while Cape Cobras ended their campaign with three points.

Earlier, Owais Shah and Dane Vilas struck fluent half centuries as Cape Cobras recovered from a wobbly start to score 137 for four.

Shah (63 not out) and Vilas (54) were instrumental in Cape Cobras' revival after they were down at 10 for two in the fourth over.

Needing a win to have any chance of making it to the semi-finals, Cape Cobras were off to a disastrous start after electing to bat as their two openers were back to the pavillion without much of a contribution.

Trinidad and Tobago opened their bowling with leg-spinner Samuel Badree who clean bowled Richard Levi for a duck in the second ball of the innings.

The other opener Herschelle Gibbs (2) hung around for a while but not could not keep his aggressive instinct in check for long and was out while going for a big shot. He mistimed his shot off a Ravi Rampaul delivery and holed out to mid-off fielder Darren Bravo.

Wicketkeeper-batsmanVilas and Shah then dug deep for a long haul to repair the innings.

The duo took the Cape Cobras' score to 97 for two by stitching 87 runs from 11.1 overs for the third wicket before Vilas was out in the 15th over.

Vilas fell to leg-spinner Sunil Narine as he went for a pull shot from a delivery that landed outside the off stump only to edge it to cover fielder Daren Ganga. His 54 came from 44 balls and had seven fours in it.

Cape Cobras, however, could not capitalise on the good work as they could add just 35 runs from the last five overs.

JP Duminy was out cheaply for nine in the penultimate over, bowled by Cooper.
