Tamil Nadu are 66 for 3 in 25 overs by stumps on Day 3 in the Ranji Trophy Final against Rajasthan at Chennai. Rajasthan has got rid of three Tamil Nadu players who have represented India – Abhinav Mukund, Murali Vijay and S Badrinath all cheaply! Tamil Nadu trail behind by a massive 555 runs and are definitely on the losing side in this match once Rajasthan methodically batted cautiously to pile up 621!

Rajasthan Bowled Out : Defending Ranji Trophy Champions Rajasthan are all set to retain the Trophy after piling up a Himalayan total of 621 in their first innings! Rajasthan took their first innings till Tea on Day 3 batting up as many as 245 overs! Opener Vineet Saxena who carried his bat through for two days finished his marathon knock with a score of 257. The 31-year-old recorded his career best score facing as many as 665 balls while hitting 26 fours and 2 sixes. The third day’s play at the MA Chidambaram Stadium also saw Robin Bist (57), Rashmi Parida (40) and Rituraj Singh (45) collect good scores.

The Tamil Nadu bowlers toiled hard for more than two and a half days with little reward. Left-arm spinner R Aushik Srinivas picked up four wickets but had bowled as many as 85 overs giving away 192 balls. Medium pacer J Kaushik and off spinner Sunny Gupta took three wickets each.
