South Africa through a superb partnership from Skipper Graeme Smith and Jacques Kallis has got into control of the First Test at Dunedin. The visitors finished Day 3 strongly with an overall lead of 233 with 7 wickets in hand.

Graeme Smith scored his 24th Test hundredHaving bowled out the Kiwis for 273 this morning and conceding a first innings lead of 35 runs, South Africa found itself in massive trouble with Doug Bracewell taking two early wickets. However, the visitors got bailed out of trouble because of a massive 200-run partnership between Graeme Smith and Jacaues Kallis. Smith, who scored his 24th Test century got out for115 (from 234 balls with 13 fours) to Doug Bracewell in the last half hour of the day’s play.

By the close of play, South Africa have got Jacques Kallis batting on 108 (from 235 balls with 15 fours) along with Jacques Rudolph (13*). This is the 42nd Test century for the 36-year-old Jacques Kallis.
