Week two of the Caribbean Premier League has ended. Here’s a look at how things have panned out so far.

Points table: Guyana Amazon Warriors are sitting on top of the points table, with 10 points from six matches. With five wins and a loss, they have a net run-rate of +0.576. Barbados Tridents are in second place, with five points. They have two wins, one loss and one match that was abandoned. They have a net run rate of +0.491. Jamaica Tallawahs are third with five points from four games, with two wins, one loss and a no result. Their net run rate is +0.042.

Trinbago Knight Riders are in fourth place, with four points from five games. They have won two and lost three, and have a net run rate of -0.160. In fifth place are St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, with only two points from six matches, with one win and five losses, and a net run rate of -0.161. St Lucia Zouks are last placed with two points from three matches – one win and two losses at a net run rate of -1.236.

Match-wise Update: In the ninth game, Guyana Amazon Warriors beat Jamaica Tallawahs by seven 7 wickets. Veerasammy Permaul was the star performer for Guyana, with 3 for 20, which kept the opposition down to 100. Adam Zampa, Sohail Tanvir and Rayad Emrit all picked up two wickets each. Chris Lynn made 39 not out as Guyana chased the target with ease.

In match number 10, Guyana got the better of St Kitts and Nevis Patriots by four wickets. Guyana again bowled well to restrict the opposition for 108, in spite of Lendl Simmons’ 50. Adam Zampa this time did the star turn with 3 for 18. Martin Guptill then blasted 43 from 22 balls to take the team home with consummate ease.

Trinbago Knight Riders defeated Guyana by seven runs in a close encounter in match number 11. Batting first, the Riders posted an impressive 151 for 4 courtesy Hashim Amla’s 64 from 54. Guyana fell short in spite of Guptill’s 40-ball 50.

Match number 12 between Barbados Tridents and Jamaica Tallawahs was washed out due to rain. Jamaica batted for 10 overs in the game, and blasted 116 for 2; Chris Gayle was in smashing for, having raced to 47 from 20, with five sixes.

Guyana returned to winning ways, defeating St Lucia Zouks by eight wickets in match number 13. Good bowling restricted Zouks to 138; Tanvir, Zampa and Emrit picking up a brace each. Jason Mohammad then smashed a quick 43 from 29 balls as Guyana won the game with more than two overs to spare.

Match number 14 saw Barbados Tridents overcoming St Kitts and Nevis Patriots by 25 runs. AB de Villiers was in blistering form as Tridents batted first. He smashed 82 from 54 balls to lead the team to 180. In reply, St Kitts were kept to 155, with Faf du Plessis and Jonathan Carter scoring 40s.
