All ten against Pakistan: At the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi in February 1999, Anil Kumble achieved what only Jim Laker had done before him. He picked up all 10 wickets in an innings against Pakistan. Relive the magic moments.

6-12 against West Indies in 1993 Hero Cup final: On November 27, 1993, India met West Indies in the Hero Cup final at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. They managed on 225 with the bat, but Kumble destroyed West Indies, picking Carl Hooper, Roland Holder and Jimmy Adams along with the tail, to bowl out the opposition for 123.

8-141 against Australia at Sydney: During this high-scoring drawn Test during the 2003-04 series, Kumble was a massive success with the ball. After India amassed 705 courtesy Sachin Tendulkar’s 241 and VVS Laxman’s 178, Kumble picked up eight Australian wickets to keep them down to 474. At the top, Kumble sent back the awesome foursome combo of Langer, Hayden, Ponting and Martyn, apart from centurion Simon Katich. He claimed four wickets in the second innings as well, including Steve Waugh for 80 in his final Test innings.

His famous Test hundred: Anil Kumble got his famous Test hundred, against England at The Oval in August 2007. Kumble remained unbeaten on 110 from 193 balls, with 16 fours and a six. It was as fluent an innings as a top-order batsman could play.

Bravo! Bowling with a broken jaw: In the Antigua Test of 2002, Kumble was hit by Merv Dillon, and broke his jaw, while batting. At that stage, it seemed Kumble would not take any further part in the series. But, he came out bandaged, and even dismissed Brian Lara. The match was drawn, but Kumble won many hearts with his bravery.
