Although Umesh Yadav and Kuldeep Yadav have tasted success against West Indies, both have gone record saying they are unhappy with the Sanspareils Greenlands (SG) ball being used across in India for Test and First Class circuit,

While Umesh claimed a 10-wicket haul at Hyderabad, Kuldeep picked up six wickets at Rajkot. Former India captain Mohammad Azharuddin is bemused that so many in the current team are unhappy with the ball that has been in use in the country for over 25 years.

"I remember the years, 1984-85, when the Dukes balls were used and how the seam used to go rough. It was clear that in Indian conditions they wouldn't work. It was in 1993 when the SG was first introduced and India went on to dominate all cricket they played at home.

“Look at the overall country-wise average of bowlers bowling with different balls in different conditions. That will give you the answer. So, what's the fuss about?"repAzhar was quoted as saying in a CricBuzz report.

Further questioning the team’s reservations, the former India skipper went on to add, "If you've taken six wickets (Kuldeep Yadav), then how can you complain about the ball? Even in pace bowling, Yadav picked a 10 wicket haul, no? So, where's the complaint?"
