Of all the teams in action at the ICC World T20 2014 so far, India have been by far the best. Heading into the semi-finals, they have not lost a single game, winning four out of four – beating Pakistan, West Indies, Bangladesh and Australia. Here’s a look at the men who have made the major difference for India in the tournament so far.

Amit Mishra: The leggie is among the top wicket-takers in the event, with 11 wickets in four games at an average of 8.7 and economy rate of 5.2. He kicked off the championship with a man of the match-winning effort against Pakistan, claiming 2 for 22. Mishra continued his good work against defending champions West Indies, with figures of 2 for 18, again winning the man of the match. Even Bangladesh were clueless against the leggie, as he picked up three for 26 against them. By the time, Mishra came on to bowl against Australia, India were already on top. Still, he helped himself to a couple of wickets.

Virat Kohli: India’s number three seems to be in form forever, and this event has been no different. He has been the top run-scorer for India with 170 matches in 4 games, averaging 85 at a strike rate of 117. Kohli made an unbeaten 36 in the win against Pakistan, and followed it up with half-centuries against West Indies (54) and Bangladesh (57 not out). Kohli (23) got a start against Australia as well, but in a rare occurrence, could not carry on.

Ravichandran Ashwin: India’s off spinner was under immense pressure going into the series following his failures in the preceding series’, most of them away from home. However, in conditions that have favoured his bowling, he has been top class. In four matches, he has picked up 7 wickets at an average of 10.4 with an exceptional economy rate of 4.7. After failing to pick up a wicket against Pakistan, he warmed up with 1 for 24 against West Indies. In the last two matches though, the offie has come into his own. His 2 for 15 against Bangladesh won him the man of the match. Ashwin was even better against the Aussies, bamboozling them with 4 for 11, again being named the man of the match.

Rohit Sharma: The Indian opener has struck good form even as Shikhar Dhawan has struggled. In four matches, Sharma has picked up 147 runs at an average of 49 with a strike rate of 119.5. After failing to convert his 24 against Pakistan, Sharma followed it up with 62 not out against West Indies and 56 against Bangladesh. He failed against Australia, making just 5.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar: The Indian pace bowler has claimed only three wickets in four games so far, but it has been his economy rate that has been so impressive, at 4.3. Kumar had figures of 1/21 against Pakistan, 0/3 against West Indies, 1/21 against Bangladesh and 1/7 against Australia.
