The Second and Final Test between Bangladesh and New Zealand at Mirpur is most likely to end as a draw with the hosts putting on a solid batting performance on the penultimate day’s play. Bangladesh, which is the only team that was in the danger of losing the Test match did well to end Day 4 at 269 for 3 in their second innings. The hosts hold onto an overall lead of 114 runs and would need another 136 runs or so to completely feel secured of a draw.

New Zealand resumed their first innings at 419 for 8 and was bowled out after adding 18 more runs. Wicket Keeper BJ Watling remained unbeaten on 70. Bangladesh under pressure in their second innings after trailing behind by 155 runs were in a spot of bother at 55 for 2. But a superb partnership of 157 runs for the 3rd wicket between opener Tamim Iqbal and Mominul Haque saved the day for the Tigers.

Tamim got out to part-time off-spinner Kane Williamson after scoring a patient 70 from 218 balls. Mominul Haque worked his way to a 2nd Test century. The 22-year-old remained unbeaten on 126 from 225 balls with 16 fours while getting another good partnership for the Tigers, with Shakib Al Hasan, who is on 32*.
