Shannon Gabriel, who made his Test Debut at Lord’s recently, is all set to miss West Indies’ Tour of New Zealand. The T&T fast bowler pulled off a back injury after the Lord’s Test and was sent home. The bowler himself has confirmed that he will not be fit for the home series against the Kiwis which is scheduled to take place early in July.

New Zealand and West Indies will play a 2-match T20I Series which will be in Florida, USA prior to the ODI and Test Series in the Caribbean.

The 24-year-old Gabriel has a high arm action and can bowl at a nippy pace bringing the ball back into the right handers. On his debut, Shannon Gabriel had more than a decent start with 3/60 and following it up with 1/26 in the five overs he could bowl in the second innings before straining his back. The fast bowler says that he is not in any pain as of now and is aiming to get back into action by the year end through a Series against Bangladesh in November.
