In a shocking development, New Zealand Cricket has sacked Ross Taylor from Captaincy. Worse is that Ross Taylor has decided to skip New Zealand’s upcoming tour of South Africa! The New Zealand Cricket Board has named Brendon McCullum as the new Captain in all the three formats of the game.

Ross TaylorNew Zealand Cricket revealed that there was a decision to split captaincy for the three formats of the game. Ross Taylor was offered to remain as the Test Captain and Brendon McCullum as the Captain for the other two formats of the game. Ross Taylor wasn’t happy with this decision of the Board which apparently was influenced by Coach Mike Hesson. The 28-year-old Taylor declined the offer which led the New Zealand Board to sack him from the role.

Ross Taylor following the ugly incident had announced that he will not be taking part in the South African tour. The former New Zealand Captain had asked for a break to spend time with his family. New Zealand are hoping that Ross Taylor returns to the team during the England Series.

Brendon McCullum had led New Zealand in the past, in 8 ODIs and 12 T20Is but is yet to lead his country in a Test Match.
