Bumrah came up with a stupendous bowling performance of 2 for 14 even as Shane Watson clattered the bowlers at the other end to be named man of the match. Thanks to his efforts and the last over by Lasith Malinga, Mumbai hung on to clinch the trophy by one run.

"Let me go on record and say he is the best bowler in the world at this stage and his best is yet to come hopefully," Tendulkar was quoted as saying after the match in a Reuters report.

Malinga had been slammed for 20 runs when Bumrah returned to the attack for his last two overs. He had given away just six runs in his initial two overs, while also claiming the wicket of the out of form Ambati Rayudu. With 42 needed off four overs, Bumrah conceded only four against big hitters Watson and Dwayne Bravo.

However, Watson slammed Krunal Pandya for three sixes to bring the equation down to 18 from two overs. With the pressure back on Bumrah, he gave away only five runs in five balls and also sent back Bravo. The last ball was sent for four byes by Quinton de Kock. However, Bumrah calmly put his arms around the keeper to share his pain, winning more hearts.

Speaking about what keeps him going day after day despite the challenges and difficulties, Bumrah said, "I don't think about all those things. I just think one day at a time, one ball at a time," said the top-ranked ODI bowler.

"If you don't think about all tose extra pressure, you are much clearer, you don't feel the pressure. So I tried to focus on that, and I tried to back myself in any situation," he explained in rather simple terms.
