Sri Lanka won the second match of the Tr-Series at Dambulla by 3 wickets with 55 balls to spare against the Black Caps. The victory was set up by the pair of Mathews and Malinga who took three wickets each to bowl out NZ for 192. SL made heavy weather in chasing the target though and they missed the bonus point by five balls! Upul Tharanga and Kumar Sangakkara had set up the platform for an easy win with their second wicket stand of 85. While Sangakkara fell for 48 (from 62 balls). Upul Tharanga batted a little longer to make 70 from 109 balls to get the Man of the Match. Also contributing well in the chase was Thilan Samaraweera who remained unbeaten on 36 from 38 balls.

Kyle Mills bowled well for the Kiwis taking 4 for 41 in 9.5 overs. Sri Lanka who were looking to get the bonus point took the batting powerplay during the 35th over and that particular phase saw them lose wickets in total madness.
