India made quite heavy weather chasing a modest target of 234 against Sri Lanka in the Second Match of the CB Series at the WACA in Perth. The Indian victory which came by 4 wickets was built up by some excellent spin bowling from R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja. Zaheer Khan provided the initial breakthroughs to ensure that Sri Lanka weren’t off to a flier before the two spinners bowled the way they wanted. It was a much improved performance from the Indian spinners compared to the first game against Australia.
Sri Lanka got their team composition wrong as they went with all all out pace attack. Surprisingly, the WACA pitch provided plenty of spin for the Indian bowlers! And Sri Lanka clearly missed a tall spinner in its team. With figures of 3 for 32 in 10 overs, Ravichandran Ashwin was clearly the best of the bowlers. The off spinner tossed up the ball generously and got his loop right. He hardly beat the bat but bowled accordingly to his field. All his three wickets were that of key players in the Sri Lankan line-up which did have an impact on the outcome of the match.
Well here is how all the wickets fell in the India Vs Sri Lanka, ODI 2 at Perth, CB Series 2012 as recorded by Cricwaves.com :

Over 2.4 Z Khan to WU Tharanga, CAUGHT, Tharanga seemed to be skipping down the track but can only tamely edge this length delivery straight into the safe hands of Sachin at first slip! Zak got the ball to move away with good bounce to induce a healthy edge.
Over 16.4 Z Khan to KC Sangakkara, CAUGHT, Sanga looks to play a forcing drive on the up and edges the away swinger to MSD who dives to his left to take a brilliant catch! Just the hint of away movement and the bounce got Sanga nicking that!
Over 24.3 RA Jadeja to TM Dilshan, CAUGHT, Dilshan moves back and cuts the wide delivery in the air and straight into the hands of Kohli who was pretty close at backward point. The extra bounce did the trick for Jadeja!
Over 35.5 R Ashwin to DPMD Jayawardene, CAUGHT, this is well tossed up around leg and Mahela goes through with a slog sweep but only to get caught low by Rohit at deep backward squareleg! It must be the extra bounce which might have produced a bit of top edge!
Over 39.4 R Ashwin to NLTC Perera, STUMPED OUT, Perera comes down the track for a big inside out shot but is beaten by lots of turn and bounce and MSD is quick to affect a stumping! And Perera's backleg was just on the line which isn't good enough.
Over 43.2 R Ashwin to LD Chandimal, STUMPED OUT, big wicket for India, Chandimal comes down the track and plays all around a full toss in a flick shot, and it was also a carrom ball which deviated away big time after pitching around leg and going past off! Its an easy stumping for MSD with Chandimal a long way out of his crease!
Over 45.5 R Ashwin to HDRL Thirimanne, RUN OUT, Thirmanne is gone, he punches this off the backfoot to point and sets off for a run which wasn't on! Mathews sends him back gut it is too late as there is an easy run out completed by MSD!
Over 49.2 R Vinay Kumar to KMDN Kulasekara, CAUGHT, Kulasekara throws his bat at a length ball outside off and miscues it towards backward point where Rohit takes the skier safely.
Fall of Wickets in the India Innings : 1-14 (Sehwag, 2.3 ov), 2-89 (Tendulkar, 18.5 ov), 3-122 (Sharma, 25.5 ov), 4-157 (Raina, 32.1 ov), 5-167 (Dhoni, 33.4 ov), 6-181 (Kohli, 35.6 ov)

Over 18.5 AD Mathews to SR Tendulkar, BOWLED HIM, Sachin goes back to try and steer it to thirdman but the ball comes back to cramp him up and also takes an inside edge onto the stumps!
Over 25.5 NLTC Perera to RG Sharma, CAUGHT, this is a rank bad ball, short and wide, and Rohit goes through with a careless cut shot uppishly and is caught brilliantly by the diving Dilshan to his left at backward point. That was a sharp catch from Dilshan as the ball was traveling!
Over 32.1 AD Mathews to SK Raina, CAUGHT, ridiculous shot from Raina and he throws his wicket away! Raina clears his frontfoot and gives the short ball a golf swing but only to hole out to the man at deep mid wicket! That was a slower one as well from Angelo.
Over 33.4 KTGD Prasad to MS Dhoni, CAUGHT, MSD goes for a pull shot to a rising delivery, and its pretty quick at him and takes a top edge which is caught by Malinga who runs back to take the catch! Dhoni was also looking to pull it from outside off!
Over 35.6 KTGD Prasad to V Kohli, RUN OUT, Kohli gets forward and punches it to mid on and takes off for a high risky single. Virat is a long way short of his crease with Malinga hitting the stumps!
