Kochi Tuskers Kerala captain Mahela Jayawardene said on Saturday that brilliant form of Chris Gayle could pose problems for his team when they face Royal Challengers Bangalore in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match here on Sunday.

"Gayle has done very well and we need to take that into account," said Jayawardene.

The Tuskers are in a must-win situation as they have to win three of their remaining four matches to qualify for the knockout stage. For them Gayle could be the danger man as he has hit two centuries in this season of the IPL, but Jayawardene believes the young boys in his team can make the difference.

"The local players are doing well for us and that is a good sign. Prashanth Parameshwaran held his nerve in big matches. We all know that Raiphi Gomez has the talent and he has done well. Vinay brings in lots of experience of having played here," said Jayawardene.

Jayawardene said he has asked his boys to play without pressure.

"No one gave us a chance so I told the boys, 'let us enjoy the cricket and let us enjoy the tough situations more than the other teams.' We have done well," he said.

Jayawardene said the Tuskers have done well against bigger teams whenever they have played on good tracks.

"I am not making an excuse but in our last few games we have played on some mediocre wickets and then you have to scrap for runs. It is a challenge and we need to adapt to that. Even if we score 90 or a 120, we need to fight back. On good tracks we have done well against strong teams be it Delhi or Kolkata," Jaywardene said.

"Ours is a young team and it took some time to settle down. We have some very good players. Both Royal Challengers and Kochi Tuskers have had different fortunes. Royal Challengers are a strong side but we hope to do well. We have had good results against teams like Delhi and Kolkata," he added.
