India's cricket board says it will organize the fifth edition of the Indian Premier League from April 4 to May 27 next year.
IPL chairman Chirayu Amin announced the dates of the 54-day tournament in a statement on Monday and promised to provide the full schedule soon.
The tournament, which is played between 10 franchises boasting several top players from around the world, will feature 74 matches in all.
Chennai Super Kings, led by India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, will be the two-time defending champions in the fifth edition of the IPL, whose past winners also include Rajasthan Royals and Deccan Chargers.
