The Board of Cricket for India has made certain changes since the start of the Year. BCCI has created a roadmap for the upcoming ODI World Cup in 2023 which will be hosted in India, during the review meeting with Rahul Dravid (head coach), and Chetan Sharma (chief selector) which took place on 1st January 2023.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly on Tuesday expressed sadness at the demise of India’s World Cup-winning batter Yashpal Sharma. The 66-year-old died of a cardiac arrest early on Tuesday morning. Taking to his official Twitter account, Ganguly wrote, "Sad to hear the news of Yashpal Sharma… had the opportunity to work with him as captain, player and then on TV. A very important part of the 1983 win which showed young players like us dream of trophies. RIP.”
Former India cricketer VVS Laxman has hailed Sri Lanka’s spin bowling legend Muttiah Muralitharan, describing him as someone who troubled batsmen all over the world, irrespective of the conditions on offer. Muralitharan was named as the Greatest Of All Time (G.O.A.T) among bowlers by a 50-member jury put together by Star Sports. Murali beat fellow legends like Shane Warne, Dale Steyn and Glenn McGrath to win the honour.

Former India cricketer VVS Laxman has hailed Suryakumar Yadav for his consistent performances and has stated that the cricketer richly deserves his spot in the India T20I squad. Yadav, along with Ishan Kishan and Rahul Tewatia earned their maiden call-up to the Indian team when they were chosen in the T20I squad announced for the five-match T20I series against England.
