The 2012 Asia Cup has been rescheduled to avoid conflicting with the ODI tri-series in Australia that also includes Sri Lanka and India, which is ending on March 8.
The tournament was originally supposed to be played from March 1 to March 11, but with the tri-series ending on March 8, the tournament will now be played from March 12 to March 22 2012.
Asian Cricket Council has said, ‘The dates for Asia Cup 2012, originally to be played in Dhaka from the 1st to 11th March 2012 have been adjusted.”
“India and Sri Lanka will be engaged in an ODI tri-series in Australia which is finishing on 8th March 2012. After due consultation with all the participating Boards and hosts Bangladesh, the dates of the eleventh Asia Cup have changed.”
“It has now been agreed that Asia Cup 2012 will be played in Dhaka from the 12th to 22nd March 2012.”
The 2012 Asia Cup, the 11th edition of this tournament, will be held in Bangladesh. It will be the third time Bangladesh will host the event.
The teams in the event are India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh
