The second half of IPL 2021 will finally get underway on Sunday with a clash between the league’s two most successful franchises - Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) - at Dubai on Sunday, September 19.

MI and CSK have been involved in some fantastic encounters over the years. The pulsating IPL 2019 final instantly comes to mind. MI, however, have had the edge over CSK. Even when the teams met in the first half in India, Mumbai chased down a 200-plus target in a match that was decided off the last ball.

Rohit Sharma’s men will thus have the upper hand when they face MS Dhoni’s side on Sunday. If we look at their form in the first half, MI and CSK are neck-to-neck there as well. CSK are second on the points table with 5 wins from 7 games while Mumbai Indians are fourth on the table with 4 wins from 7 games

MI are one team that rarely make any changes to their core team. Their playing XI is more or less fixed but for a couple of players here and there. Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock will open. Ishan Kishan, who was dropped after some low scores in India, should be confident of performing better in UAE, a venue where he dazzled last year.

Apart from Suryakumar Yadav at three, Hardik, Krunal, and Pollard should all play as all-rounders. Rahul Chahar is likely to be the spinner, having impressed in the first half and in Sri Lanka. In the bowling, Adam Milne could join Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult.

MI Predicted Playing 11: Rohit Sharma (C), Quinton de Kock (WK), Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard, Krunal Pandya, Rahul Chahar, Adam Milne, Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult.

For CSK, Faf du Plessis and Sam Curran are unlikely to feature in the clash against MI for different reasons. So Chennai could go with Robin Uthappa as opener with Ruturaj Gaikwad. Moeen Ali should continue at No 3, where he tasted a lot of success in the first half. Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu and skipper MS Dhoni should complete the Top six.

Apart from Moeen, CSK can go for Dwayne Bravo and Josh Hazlewood as their foreign choices. Among Indians, Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur and, to an extent, Deepak Chahar can be considered as all-rounders

CSK Predicted Playing 11: Robin Uthappa, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Moeen Ali, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni (C&WK), Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Bravo, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, Josh Hazlewood.

Top Fantasy picks for CSK vs MI clash: Quinton de Kock, Suryakumar Yadav, Kieron Pollard, Moeen Ali, Dwayne Bravo, Jasprit Bumrah, Shardul Thakur
