If reports are to be believed all is not well between the Indian cricket team and coach Anil Kumble. A report in India Today quoted some sources as saying that Indian cricketers are not pleased with the former leggie's “overbearing attitude”.
Another report in The Times of India claims that captain Virat Kohli and other senior players are unhappy with Kumble as he is a hard task-master. Apparently, they feel that Ravi Shastri dealt with them much better.
The Indian cricket team is currently in England, trying to defend the Champions Trophy crown they won in 2013. India beat New Zealand in a rain-afflicted warm-up match on Sunday.
Meanwhile, in a significant development, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has recently invited applications for the position of head coach for the Indian team. This even as the team was preparing for the Champions Trophy.
With Kumble's tenure as head coach ends after the Champions Trophy and he is not being given an extension.
