In their previous match, CSK were under par with both bat and ball against PBKS. They recovered well after a poor start with the ball to restrict Punjab to 180. However, their batting was abysmal as they only managed to score 126. As for SRH, they did reasonably well with the ball to hold LSG to 169. It was a chaseable target. However, the batting department did not show enough resolve to pull the team over the line.
Chennai desperately need runs from Ruturaj Gaikwad for them to stay in the hunt. Ambati Rayudu’s consistency, Ravindra Jadeja’s captaincy and MS Dhoni’s resourcefulness will also be under the scanner. In the bowling, they really don’t seem to have many great spin options.
CSK predicted XI: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Robin Uthappa, Moeen Ali, Ambati Rayudu, Ravindra Jadeja (c), Shivam Dube, MS Dhoni (wk), Rajvardhan Hangargekar, Dwaine Pretorius, Chris Jordan, Dwayne Bravo
SRH have a decent batting line-up. Apart from Williamson and Pooran, they would want bigger scores from Aiden Markram and Rahul Tripathi. Can Washington Sundar be pushed up the order? In the bowling, Romario Shepherd’s place will be under the scanner while all-rounder Abdul Samad will need to make an impact.
SRH predicted XI: Rahul Tripathi, Kane Williamson (c), Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Abhishek Sharma, Abdul Samad, Romario Shepherd, Washington Sundar, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan, Umran Malik
Top fantasy picks for CSK vs SRH clash: Robin Uthappa, Moeen Ali, Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar, T Natarajan, Umran Malik
