Match Report of Sri Lanka Vs England, Day 1, Second Test at P Sara Oval, Colombo

England have set themselves a decent chance to draw the 2-Test Series by finishing the second day’s play at 154 for 1 having bundled out Sri Lanka for 275. Openers Andrew Strauss (61 from 126 balls with 4 fours) and Alastair Cook (77* from 227 balls with 7 fours) put up a solid stand of 122 runs although a slow one taking 51.3 overs.

Alastair Cook scored an unbeaten 77By Stumps on the second day of the 2nd Test at the P Sara Oval in Colombo, England are trailing behind by 121 runs with 9 wickets in hand. Hosts Sri Lanka were earlier bowled out for 275 in 111.1 overs. The Lankans could add only 37 more runs this morning before losing their remaining four wickets. Sri Lanka had resumed Day 2 at 238 for 6. Overnight batsman Angelo Mathews ended up with a half century, scoring 57 from 157 balls. For England, Graeme Swann did the clean up job taking 4 for 75.
