India and Bangladesh have played each other on seven occasions so far, with India winning 6 and one ending in a draw. Bangladesh are yet to win a Test against the Indians.

Most runs:

Sachin Tendulkar has scored most runs in India-Bangladesh Tests. In seven Tests, he has scored 820 runs at an average of 136.6 with five hundreds and a best of 248 not out. Rahul Dravid is next on the list. In 7 Tests, he scored 560 runs at an average of 70 with three hundreds and a fifty with a best of 160. For Bangladesh, Mohammad Ashraful has scored the most number of runs. In six Tests, he has scored 386 runs at an average of 42.88 with one hundred and two fifties, and a best of 158 not out.

Most wickets:

Zaheer Khan has claimed most wickets in India-Bangladesh Tests. In 7 Tests, he picked up 31 wickets at an average of 24.25 with a best of 7 for 87. He has a economy rate of 3.8, and a strike rate of 38 with two five-wicket hauls and one ten-wicket match haul. Irfan Pathan has an excellent record against Bangladesh. Having played just two Tests, he has claimed 18 wickets at an average of 18.88 with a best of 6 for 51. He has an economy rate of 3.39, and a strike rate of 21 with three five-wicket hauls, and one ten-wicket match haul. For Bangladesh, Mohammad Rafique is the most successful bowler with 15 wickets in five Tests. He has an average of 46.4, with a best of 4 for 156.


Highest scores:

Sachin Tendulkar has the highest individual score in India-Bangladesh Tests. He made 248 not out at Dhaka in December 2004. Rahul Dravid is next with his 160 at Chittagong in December 17, 2004. For Bangladesh, Ashraful made 158 not out at Chittagong in December 2004.


Best bowling figures in an innings:

Zaheer Khan claimed 7 for 87 at Dhaka in January 2010. Irfan Pathan, another left-arm seamer from India, claimed 6 for 51 at Dhaka in December 2004. Pathan has two more five-wicket hauls against Bangladesh. Naimur Rahman has the best bowling figures from Bangladesh’s side. He claimed 6 for 132 at Dhaka in November 2010. Shakib Al Hasan, Shahadat Hossain and Sunil Joshi are the other bowlers who have claimed five-fors in India-Bangladesh Tests.


Best bowling figures in a match:

Irfan Pathan claimed 11 for 96 at Dhaka in December 2004. Zaheer Khan claimed 10 for 149 at Dhaka in January 2010 while Sunil Joshi claimed 8 for 169 at Dhaka in November 2010.
