Titans, the local South African team will meet the formidable Sydney Sixers this evening at the SuperSport Park in Centurion in the second Semi Final of the Champions League T20 2012. The winner of the match will be up against the Highveld Lions who are into the Finals following a crushing win over Delhi Daredevils last evening.

Led by the tall Martin van Jaarsveld, the Titans didn’t have a particularly great tournament but did just enough to seal a spot in the Semis. In their four league matches, the Titans crushed Auckland Aces by 59 runs, Perth Scorchers by 39 but then lost to Kolkata Knight Riders by a huge margin of 99 runs. They qualified into the Semis following Auckland Aces defeat in their last league match while the Titans had a washed out game against the Delhi Daredevils.

The Sydney Sixers have been playing as the tournament favourites right from Day 1. Led by Wicket Keeper Brad Haddin, the Sydney Sixers have been unbeaten so far in the tournament by winning all their four league matches. Their bowling attack consisting of the likes of Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood and Steve O’Keefe has shown that they can defend any low totals. The Sixers though do not have the services of all-rounder Shane Watson because of his Australia commitments.

Again like yesterday, it will be an upset of sorts if the Sydney Sixers are defeated by the Titans just like how the formidable Delhi Daredevils went down to the Lions.

Lastly the tournament orgranizers have decided to have a reserve day tomorrow should this second Semi Final end up as a wash out because of bad weather.
