Ben Stokes’ return to the cricket field bolstered Rajasthan Royals, who are in desperate need of reigniting their campaign. Although there is no guarantee of Stokes playing, RR might well risk him in Sunday’s game considering the grave situation. Having won their first two matches in Sharjah, RR have since registered four losses in a row, the latest one despite returning to Sharjah.

If you look at Sunrisers Hyderabad, their opponent for the match on Sunday at Dubai, they have fared much better. SRH have three wins from six games, thus finding themselves in the first half of the points table. They destroyed KXIP by 69 runs in their previous encounter. Skipper David Warner and Jonny Bairstow featured in a 160-run opening stand. Leg-spinner Rashid Khan then ensured KXIP could not compete with excellent figures of 3 for 12.

Royals have struggled because their batting has completely gone off the boil in the last few games. Delhi Capitals exploited RR’s weaknesses very well to hand them a 46-run drubbing in the previous encounter. Skipper Steve Smith, Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson form a highly dangerous top three, but they need to fire in unison. Further, while Jofra Archer has been excellent with the ball, he would need better support from the other pacers. As of now, RR would be happy with their leg-spinner Shreyas Gopal’s return to form.

Head-to-Head Record: There is not much to choose between the two teams as Hyderabad have won six and Rajasthan five out of 11 games played between them.

SRH Predicted XI: David Warner, Jonny Bairstow, Manish Pandey, Kane Williamson, Priyam Garg, Abdul Samad, Abhishek Sharma, Rashid Khan, Sandeep Sharma, Khaleel Ahmed, T Natarajan

RR Predicted XI: Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal/Manan Vohra, Steve Smith, Sanju Samson, Mahipal Lomror, Ben Stokes/Andrew Tye, Rahul Tewatia, Jofra Archer, Shreyas Gopal, Kartik Tyagi, Varun Aaron

Pitch Report

The pitch at Dubai is good for teams batting first. Those posting scores in the region of 170 have more or less defended the totals.

Weather conditions

Being a day game, the weather will be tough on players. Temperatures could reach close to 40 degree Celsius, which could soak some energy out of the cricketers.
