Australia Wicket Keeper Matthew Wade who is also playing the role of an opening batsman bagged the Man of the Match award in the opening game of the Commonwealth Bank Series against India on Sunday at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Australia Wicket Keeper Matthew Wade who is also playing the role of an opening batsman bagged the Man of the Match award in the opening game of the Commonwealth Bank Series against India on Sunday at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. This is the second Man of the Match award for Matthew Wade against India in the space of 7 days with the first one coming at Sydney in the opening T20I.

Sensing that Australia needed impetus for its innings, the left-handed Matthew Wade opened his shoulders to bravely tonk the Indian bowling. Following his initiative, Australia who were otherwise crawling at 49 for 3 sprung back to life and then began to tear apart the Indian attack. Wade played a key role in all these through his smashing knock of 67 from 69 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes. Infact, the 24-year-old Matthew Wade was only making his ODI Debut through this opening game and he went onto bag the Man of the Match!
