Shane Watson, who is currently playing for the Sydney Sixers in the ongoing Champions League T20 2012 in South Africa, has been ordered to return back home by Cricket Australia. Watson will play two more matches in the tournament against Yorkshire and Lions before he returns to Australia to prepare for the upcoming Test Series against South Africa.

Shane WatsonWatson has been a key player in all the teams he has played for recently – Rajasthan Royals, Australia and the Sydney Sixers as he has been opening the batting and bowling quite a lot of overs with his medium pace. It is learnt that Cricket Australia is concerned that Shane Watson could break down because of the enormous workload he has been carrying in the T20 matches. Michael Clarke, Australia’s Test Captain has endorsed this view of Cricket Australia in recalling Watson from the CLT20 tournament midway.

Apparently, Shane Watson couldn’t even play in a single Test match last summer. Michael Clarke has added pressure on the all-rounder by saying that Australia had drubbed India 4-0 without Watson in the team. So indirectly hinting that it was Watson to pull up his socks to take care of his body and get ready to perform for Australia in Test Cricket.
