Sunrisers Hyderabad crushed Faisalabad Wolves to become the second team after Otago to qualify for the main tournament. The match was won by the Sunrisers bowlers in the first half itself after restricting the Wolves to just 127. Shikhar Dhawan and Parthiv Patel came up with another splendid start to leave the run chase as a mere formality.

The openers put on 68 runs in 8.5 overs before Parthiv Patel pulled medium pacer Ehsan Adil to mid wicket. Shikhar Dhawan stroked his way to a fifty in 48 balls and got out on 59 (from 50 balls with 6 fours and a six) when he bottom edged a cut onto the off stump. Dhawan left the park with the Sunrisers needing another 16 runs to win with plenty of balls left. Duminy got some batting practice, scoring 20* from 27 balls while Sammy finished the game with his 14*. Sunrisers finished with a 7-wicket win with 15 balls to spare. Amit Mishra for his superb bowling got the Man of the Match award.

Faisalabad Wolves Batting Update: The international quality attack of the Sunrisers was just too much for the Faisalabad Wolves as the latter could only post a modest total of 127 for 5. That total too was courtesy of a decent knock of 56 not out from 40 balls from Skipper Misbah-ul-Haq.

Dale Steyn found his radar going tonight to concede only 20 off his 4 overs. Ishant did well for his 1 for 26 in 4 overs. The real difference came from the two leggies Amit Mishra and Karan Sharma with both of them taking a wicket in their first over. Mishra finished with superb figures of 4-1-13-1. The leggies were taken out of the attack as Misbah was lining them up for his sixes. The Faisalabad Skipper clobbered five sixes to boost his side’s total.

The rest of the Faisalabad batsmen failed to come in terms of the superior bowling attack from the Sunrisers. The start from the openers was promising but it soon slowed down to end up with 48 in 7.2 overs before Ali Waqas got out hoicking Mishra to deep mid wicket. The other opener Ammar Mahmood scored 31 from 38 balls.

Toss and Teams: In what is termed as a min Indo-Pak clash, it is the Sunrisers Hyderabad, who have won the toss and asked the Faisalabad Wolves to bat first at Mohali. SRH are a win away from making it to the main tournament while Faisalabad are under pressure of staying alive having lost their first match yesterday.
