The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will meet the Gujarat Titans (GT) in match number 35 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Saturday. This will be the day game of the double-header and hence will start at 3:30 PM IST.

KKR began IPL 2022 in impressive fashion, but have slipped since. They are currently down at the number seven position having lost three games in a row. In their last match, they narrowly went down to the Rajasthan Royals (RR) by seven runs. GT are getting better with each game. They are second in the points table, having won five of their six games. They go into Saturday’s clash having beaten the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by three wickets in a thrilling finish.

There are some worries for Kolkata in the batting department. Aaron Finch found form against RR while Shreyas Iyer was excellent. However, they faltered in a rather stunning fashion after being in charge of a chase of 218. Venkatesh Iyer needs to get among the runs while Nitish Rana may have found some rhythm, but needs to be more consistent. Sheldon Jackson has been good behind the stumps but needs to contribute with the bat as well.

Pat Cummins and Umesh Yadav have been expensive in recent matches. Varun Chakaravarthy also needs to rediscover some rhythm as he has lost confidence in the last couple of matches.

KKR Predicted XI: Venkatesh Iyer, Aaron Finch, Shreyas Iyer (c), Nitish Rana, Andre Russell, Sheldon Jackson (wk), Sunil Narine, Pat Cummins, Shivam Mavi, Umesh Yadav, Varun Chakaravarthy

GT should be bolstered by the return of skipper Hardik Pandya. However, their batting is a worry. Shubman Gill has not built on his great form while the other opener has not performed at all. Vijay Shankar needs to lift his game

They have a gun bowling attack with Rashid Khan, Lockie Ferguson and Mohammed Shami. Pandya too has made an impact with the ball.

GT Predicted XI: Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Shubman Gill, Vijay Shankar, Hardik Pandya (c), David Miller, Abhinav Manohar, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan, Alzarri Joseph, Lockie Ferguson, Mohammed Shami
