But the below average batting performance from KKR cost them the match. Chasing the score of 134, KKR lost their skipper Gautam Gambhir in the first over on duck. But it didn’t affected Robin Uthappa as he kept playing his shots and looked like taking the game away from CSK. Robin hit six boundaries and a six against fast bowlers and was looking very comfortable against them. Ashwin was introduced in the last over of the power play and he turned the game around by getting the wicket of Robin. The off-spinner gave lot of flight to the ball and was bowling very slower in the air. He struck in his next over again when Manish Panday was caught at deep mid-wicket playing the sweep shot. The ball came on the bat and he ended up top edging it. Yousuf Pathan and Surya Kumar Yadav tried to settle in and they allowed the required rate to jump over. Bravo took the catch of the tournament to dismiss Surya Kumar Yadav. Each batsman the middle order took their time to settle in but couldn’t carried their inning forward and kept getting out. With 30 runs required in the last two overs and Ryan Ten Deoschate was the only recognized batman, Deoschate hit a four and a six in the penultimate over of the inning and a total of 13 runs. 17 runs was required of the last over and Bravo had the ball in his hand. He bowled first three ball of the last over as dot and then the equation was 17 runs off three deliveries. He struck brutal blow in the last three bowl as six, four and four as KKR ended up 2 runs short.

Earlier KKR captain won the toss and invited CSK to bat first. The openers started the inning in a flash and added 42 runs together for the first wicket in no time. Piyush Chawla provided them the first break through when he sneaked McCullum leg before wicket. After the power play when spinner came in to bowl, it was not easy for CSK to score at will. The way veteran Chinaman bowled his four overs was to see for everyone. He again proved that ages are just the number if you have passion to play the game. CSK too lost their way in the middle overs as they were neither able to save their wickets nor able to get quick runs. Faf Du Plessis scored run a ball 29 run help Chennai get to 134.
