New Zealand kept their winning streak against Zimbabwe intact. In the first T20I today at the Eden Park in Auckland, New Zealand eased to a 7-wicket win with 19 balls to spare.
Batting first after winning the toss, Zimbabwe through a couple of good knocks from opener Hamilton Masakadza (53 from 36 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes) and Elton Chigumbura (48 from 24 balls with 3 fours and 4 sixes) posted a respectable 159 for 8 in 20 overs. Making his T20I Debut today, left-arm pacer Michael Bates took 3 for 31 in his 4 overs.
The Kiwis then eased to their victory with a 137-run stand for the 3rd wicket between opener Martin Guptill (91* from 54 balls with 5 fours and 6 sixes) and Kane Williamson (48 from 38 balls with 5 fours). Guptill got the Man of the Match for his 91 not out. The two teams meet again on the 14th for the second and final T20I at Hamilton.
